2023: Bauchi guber aspirant who enjoyed state-sponsored scholarship wants to give back

An All Progressives Congress (APC) guber aspirant in Bauchi state, Dr. Musa Babayo has said that his sole aim of aspiring for the seat of the governor of Bauchi state is to give back to the people of Bauchi footing his primary, secondary and tertiary education fees. 


The aspirant who explained in Bauchi on Sunday that his educational pursuit was sponsored by the then Native Authority of the 60s to 70s and the Bauchi state government, expressed interest to run for governor of the state. 


Babayo who is Finance and Accountancy expert was chairman of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) also called for zoning the governorship to Katagum emirate which has not held the position since the ascension of the first Executive Governor of the state in 1979. 


“Myself as a gubernatorial aspirant, I have confidence in the leadership of the party in the state that you’ll do the right thing when the time comes. I urge you to create a level playing field for all participants regardless of where they come from. Please offer the your best for it is only Almighty Allah who can judge you,” he told the Bauchi APC executives.


In his response the Bauchi State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Babayo Aliyu Misau assured guber aspirants that APC in Bauchi would exhibit justice, fairness and equity to all members irrespective geographical background.


Alhaji Babayo Misau solicited for cooperation and understanding of party members, especially aspirants aspiring to various elective positions to bear in mind that it is only one person that can ascend to a position.


Misau further assured that party captains would undertake their responsibilities to the best of their abilities, and heed to the wishes of the majority in consonance with democratic norms.
