Abdulsalami Abubakar (Retd) anoints Prince Adebayo

Presidential Aspirant Adebayo pays condolence visit as Ezeife loses wife

Prince Adebayo pays condolence visit Former Anambra governor as Ezeife loses wife

…Dr. Ezeife happy with Prince Adewole Adebayo and his team

Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, a former governor of old Anambra State, denied suggestions that Nigeria would break up on Wednesday, saying that the country will not disintegrate despite the myriad issues it faces.

Dr. Ezeife spoke at his Abuja residence, when Mega Party Movement presidential aspirant Prince Prince Adewale Adebayo paid him a sympathy visit following the tragic death of his wife, Mrs Njideka Ezeife.

Mrs Ezeife served as the First Lady of Anambra State from January 1992 until November 1993, when her husband was the governor of the state.

While speaking to the presidential candidate and his team, Ezeife stated that Nigeria’s problems are not yet solved, but that Nigerians must return to God in prayer in order to restore God’s purpose for the country, and that the people must be prepared for a new Nigeria.

“We have a gem of a country, God gave us more than any other country, no country has what we have,” he stated, adding that “the men and some of the women in Nigerian politics messed up God’s design for unequal greatness, for a superpower among nations.” Man messed up the plan, but can man’s will take precedence over God’s? So prepare to meet a new Nigeria.

“With you the younger ones, I am very happy, the problem is that our political leaders do not have conscience, conscience is dead in Nigerian politicians and that is the problem. We have to pray to God to resurrect conscience in Nigeria.

“If we have conscience, we can bring back Nigeria, we can still be a superpower and we can make all Africans and black people respected and have dignity because our failure is the failure of all blacks. It is not over, Nigeria is not about to disintegrate but we have to go back to God and pray that he restores his plan for Nigeria.”

Dr. Ezeife extended his gratitude to Prince Adewale Adebayo and his entourage for their condolences, saying, “I am extremely condoled because of the manner you talked.” May God continue to bless you.”

Prince Adebayo had earlier stated that the visit was to offer their heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family, stressing that while they would ordinarily come to him for advice, even the strongest of men require comfort when they are grieving.

“You are a national leader who reminds us what the country should be and what we should be,” he said, describing Ezeife as a stabilizer in the country’s leadership. You sought to unite the country as a family while you were governor of Anambra.

“You are known to be a planner and you left a solid foundation of what Anambra State is today. You have been an example to the country in many ways. At a moment like this, we’ve come to you, you must feel the vacuum of losing a loved one but you must fill that vacuum with all the many children you have produced.

“Your duty is to give us direction, the country needs unity and you have an answer to that. The answer to Nigeria’s centre of gravity is the centralization of Igbos in Nigeria, you have been a solid reference for all of us. You have seen a lot but yet you’ve soldiered on, but our  duty is to relieve you of some of these heavy responsibilities by taking care of ourselves and being responsible”, he stated.
