Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed has purchased 32 units of brand new Suzuki Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) to 22 Permanent Secretaries, judiciary and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Speaking during the distribution exercise in Bauchi on Friday, the governor said that the vehicles will assist them in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
He also noted that the vehicles will serve as catalyst for imporoved productivity for the benefit of the citizens of the state.
“A strong civil service is required for the implementation of the policies and programmes of government for the social economic development of the state. It is for this reason that government used merit in the appointment of Permanent Secretaries.
“This initiative has brought about remarkable improvement in the service delivery in the state. So far, I want to confess that I have seen improved productivity in the service because of the calibre of the Permanent Secretaries we have,” Mohammed said.
In his vote of thanks, Alhaji Yahuza Haruna, Head of Civil Service (HoS), appreciated the state governor for the presentation of the vehicles, while assuring that the Civil Service would put in its best use to help the administration achieve more for the state.
Bestof9ja news gathered that the Judiciary got six of the vehicles, while Bauchi state Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) received four.
