In what can be described as an infringement on the rights of humans to choose freely their associations and freedom of expression, Portharcourt Hotel employer has sacked a young receptionist for choosing to be OBIdient.
This event occurred as a result of the unanticipated turn out of people at the 2 million march for Peter Obi, the labour party presidential candidate.
The young receptionist (girl) whose identify is yet to be uncovered is a “hustler” who is fending for herself and her younger ones. She is from a poor background and has been surviving from the proceeds of the Hotel job.
In a video made by the young receptionist to call the attention of well meaning Nigerians to come to her aid. She stated that the 27th day of August, 2022 was her off day and cfoincidentally, was the day slated for the 2 million march for Peter Obi.
According to her, she was sacked after her boss got to know she attended the 2 million march for Peter Obi through a video she made of herself during the 2 million march for Peter Obi in Portharcourt.
This job lose will cost her the hope to start her tertiary education immediately the Asuu strike is called off. The loss of her also means that she will not be able to feed herself and her siblings.
As at the time of filing this reports, concerned Nigerians has expressed intentions to assist financially till she gets another job.
Reacting to the sack action taken against the young receptionist by the Portharcourt based hotel. Nigerians have decided to take the matter up against the hotel for such unacceptable action. The name of the hotel is currently being sought after.
