SGBV: People anticipating rape, violence can get court protection order, says Ikra Foundation

By Charly Agwam - Bauchi Ikra Foundation for Women and Youth Development has said that people who anticipate Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) against them can get court order from judges, under the VAPP law. Speaking with journalists during the weekend in Bauchi, Ikra's Country Executive Director, Amina Garuba Ahmed also called for a special court for cases relating to SGBV for speedy dispensation of justice for vulnerable people. "A protection order is one that can be gotten from the court by an SGBV survivor or any person that anticipates any form of violence that is captured under that VAPP law. Include NDE in palliative distribution, Emir of Bauchi tells FG

Rilwanu Adamu has called on the Federal government to consider the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in the distribution of palliative in various states. The Emir made the call in Bauchi on Tuesday, during the flag-off of skills acquisition training for 20 unemployed youth by the NDE. Represented by Hon. Mustapha Alkali (Kuliyan Bauchi), the Emir said this is because the NDE had been very effective and fair in instilling entrepreneurship skills to unemployed youth in the country. By Charly Agwam - Bauchi A teenager, Mildred Joshua Ebuka who went missing in Lagos has been found in Bauchi State, Bauchi police revealed on Friday. According to a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by Bauchi Command PPRO, Ahmed Wakil, the teenager is in good condition and will be united with her family soon. He said that the teenager had been found at a bus park and was brought into police custody by a Good Samaritan as the environment was strange to her.
