Farida says 2022 will bring better welfare for media practitioners
The Chairman of the NIgeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, Comrade Farida Abubakar has congratulated citizens and journalists in the state for witnessing the New Year, 2022.
She expressed this in a statement signed by her Campaign Director General, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available in Kaduna on Saturday January 1.
Farida said that the New Year ushers in greater hope of a media friendly environment, where practitioners would do their duties responsibly in moving Kaduna State forward.
“As media practitioners, we envisage all round development in the industry that will see our members earn decent wages and respect of the society where they practice.
“In 2021, several media houses were not particularly impressive with the welfare of our members, we are hopeful that the New Year will be favourable to our members so that they can consciously contribute in uplifting our society, like they have always done,” she said.
The statement appealed to the general public, law enforcement agencies and traffic enforcement officers, to be always willing and ready to assist journalists when on duty to ease up their news gathering activities.
“I wish you all a Happy New Year, while looking forward to a robust working relationship with our host, the Kaduna State Government and other tiers of government as well as ministries, departments and agencies across the state,” she added.
She praised the Kadunà State Government led by Malam Nasir el-Rufai for its “magic wand” in transforming the state through its urban renewal projects, while expressing optimism that more dividends will be felt by people of the state in 2022.
