Nasarawa community where children copulate, make babies and get married
In the Akwanga Local Government community of Gwangwala, young children have developed the practise of copulating.
Due to unexpected pregnancies, two children were coerced into teenage marriages.
This 13-year-old junior secondary school student became pregnant after being impregnated by a 14-year-old minor in her class.
They were forced into a marriage by the pregnancy, with both parents’ approval.
This baby is a product of their actions.
The underage father’s family has paid a token as a portion of the bride price for their new daughter-in-law.
However, the marriage has been condemned and dissolved by civil society organisations in the Nasarawa community and state government officials.
