NPower tells beneficiaries to resign, tired of payment demands

NPower tells beneficiaries to resign, frowns at payment demands.

As at late hours of January 12, 2020. NPower beneficiaries began to observe a new development on their dashboards which is caption “Apply for Resignation”.

Yesterday being January 13, 2022, a NASIMS (Coordinating office for Npower) page on Facebook named Nasim.gov.ng broke the news to over 300,000 Npower beneficiaries in what many perceived as a disregarding tone, stating authoritatively that beneficiaries who are impatient and too demanding of their due payments should resign. OFFER FOR RESIGNATION

Dear N-Power Batch C (Stream 1) Beneficiaries.

Considering unnecessary calls from mischievous beneficiaries over unpaid stipends, a new development has been made on the NASIMS portal. You have been given the honourable opportunity to resign from the N-Power scheme.

We had informed you last year, stating that there was little or no budget for the payment of stipends, hence the reason for the patchy and lopsided payment process. Not considering the issue, beneficiaries have deemed it fit to demand what is not rightfully theirs.

Once again, to this effect, beneficiaries have been given the honourable opportunity to resign from the scheme.

Thanks

How Npower beneficiaries reacted to Nasims’ resignation offer

Many beneficiaries considering the disregarding tone at which Npower addressed them summed up that the Nigerian government does not value their citizens nor care about rewarding their labour.

Other beneficiaries resolved not to be tempted to resign.

NPower apologies to beneficiaries

After a whole day thread of backlash on Npower by beneficiaries, an apology post was made to clarify the intent of their earlier post.

APOLOGIES FOR INAPPROPRIATE MESSAGE TONE

Dear N-Power Batch C (Stream 1) Beneficiaries.

Our attention has been drawn to several calls and criticisms regarding our previous post and the alleged reckless tone with which its message was conveyed. While we take responsibility for the words used in our previous post, note that its message was passed in good faith and neither for slander purpose nor to breed disunity.

Our sincere apologies to those who may have been hurt by the tone of the message in our previous post.

Thanks

As at the time of compiling this report, a bunch of Npower beneficiaries have resigned from the scheme.

For some, they wanted to test Npower if it was real and they later discovered that they have been denied access to their dashboards.

Other Npower beneficiaries who resigned stated that they could not condole the level of disregard melted on them resulting to the resignation button activated on their dashboards and unpaid stipends for three months.
