Prince Adewole Adebayo criticizes Buhari for fuel subsidy, claims it’s a ruse

Prince Adewole Adebayo, a presidential candidate running on the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) platform, has described fuel subsidy as the “biggest fraud of the century” that has continued to drain the country’s budget while placing Nigerians under constant stress.

He chastised President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for allegedly continuing a fraud.

He made the remarks Monday at the SDP secretariat in Abuja, where he presented his letter of intent to run for president on the party’s platform in 2023.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari stated this in 2015 while campaigning for re-election.

“Remember, there was a gentleman, I don’t know his name, who said in 2015 that anyone who talks about the government giving subsidies should be arrested; that person is now President Muhammadu Buhari in the Villa.

“Let me tell you, what is happening to us is not governance; it is criminality, and we must put an end to it. What is happening is that the government and its allies are stealing a large portion of our crude oil sales, which is why oil prices have risen from $34 to $104 while the Naira has remained unchanged.

There is no witchcraft as active as that where your main product is rising in price while your currency keeps failing.
