Bauchi, UNICEF move to map out-of-school children 

By Charly Agwam - Bauchi The Bauchi State government in collaboration with United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have commenced mapping of out-of-school children to ascertain the actual number of children that are not attending school as the State reportedly has about 1.2 million children who are not in school. According to a statement by the Officer in Charge of UNICEF Bauchi Field Office, Adams Clement, the mapping would enable the state “to know the actual number of children that are out of school, for effective planning. The mapping is a comprehensive household survey for out-of-school children towards actualising the state’s strategic plans to reduce the number and rate of out-of-school children." UNFPA, Al-Muhibah Foundation train 60 persons with disabilities on skills acquisition in Bauchi

By Idris Abdulrasheed The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Al-Muhibah Foundation, on Sunday, commenced skills acquisition training for 60 persons with disabilities in Bauchi state. The Bauchi state Programme Officer of UNFPA, Deborah Tabara, stated this on during the commemoration of the 2023 International Day for Persons with Disabilities. According to her, the gesture which was a collaborative efforts of UNFPA and Al-Muhibah Foundation of Gov. Bala Mohammed’s wife, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, was to make the beneficiaries to be financially independent and employers of labour.
